As a recreational cannabis customer, you need a valid license, passport, or government issue ID to enter our facilities in South Portland and Waterville. We accept debit or cash at this location!

We do not allow infants, children or any individuals into the dispensary who are under the age of 21.

If you are visiting our South Portland or Waterville dispensaries as a recreational customer, you will also need a valid government-issued photo ID such as a driver’s license, passport, state ID, or military ID. You must be 21+ years of age to purchase cannabis.

Theory Wellness accepts cash and debit cards. We do not accept credit cards or Apple Pay or pin-based gift cards.

You need a government-issued ID for age validation. Acceptable forms of ID to purchase recreational marijuana include a driver’s license, Passport, State ID card, or military ID. Please note that we cannot accept expired forms of identification for legal marijuana sales. You must be 21+ years of age to purchase recreational marijuana.

You do NOT need a medical marijuana card to purchase marijuana for recreational use. You will only need a valid license that verifies that you are 21+ years of age.

Pre-ordering is a recommended method of purchasing recreational cannabis with us. By using our pre-order system, you can select the time of pick-up and expedite your visit to our location. We cannot change the pick-up time once an order has been placed.

It’s simple!

Head to either our South Portland, Waterville or Bangor online menus and pick out the products you’re interested in. When your cart is full, head to the checkout and fill out the required information including your name (as it is listed on your ID), birthday, and cell phone number. From there, we’ll send you the following text messages or emails:

• Your order has been received
• Your order has been confirmed
• Your order is ready for pick-up

When you arrive, you’ll be asked to show your pick-up text/email.

Nope! You pay with cash or debit when you come to pick up your order (just like takeout)!

We offer same-day pick-ups. All orders must be picked up the same day they were placed. At this time, we are not holding any orders overnight. We cannot make changes once an order has been placed.

Yes, you can purchase recreational marijuana at our dispensaries in South Portland, Waterville, and Bangor with a government-issued ID that verifies you are 21 or older. Valid forms of identification include driver’s licenses, passports, or military IDs.

Recreational marijuana customers may legally purchase up to two and a half ounces of cannabis that includes no more than five grams of concentrate, whether sold alone, contained in an inhalant delivery system, or contained in edible marijuana products.

Recreational cannabis products range in strengths and dosages. Everyone responds differently to cannabis as there is no consistent measurement of effects. We encourage all new customers to start low and go slow to learn how it affects them and to become familiar with their consumption limits. Don’t be shy asking for help at the dispensary – our highly trained staff will answer any questions you may have.

Consumption of recreational marijuana may only occur in privately designated areas where smoking and/or vaping is allowed. This does not include Theory Wellness (South Portland, Waterville, or Bangor) dispensaries. Please keep in mind that public consumption of marijuana may result in fines.

Transporting recreational marijuana is similar to transporting alcohol wherein you cannot have an open container of recreational marijuana or marijuana products in the passenger area. An “open container” is defined as having a package with a broken seal or a package from which contents have been partially removed.
